GTTS-2000B series Iridium Tracking & Tracing System was developed to Track and Trace your truck, container, vessel or other assets in areas where there is lack of GSM coverage. The Engineers of Leap Development B.V. have many Years of experience in developing Tracking & Tracing Systems as well as Satellite Communications. They developed the GTTS-2000B in such a way that it can fulfill most of the customer needs without modifications, add-ons or special software versions. It’s ruggedized all weather proof housing was especially designed to survive under the most extreme conditions. The GTTS-2000B runs from an application specific designed integrated battery pack that will guarantee fail safe operation under the most extreme temperature conditions. In the basic configuration no wiring is needed. Installation time is kept to an absolute minimum because it provides magnetic mounting and integrated Iridium and GPS Antenna’s. An integrated motion sensor and especially designed hardware and software ensures that a maximum of position and status reports can be generated from the batteries life span.
Goal
The GTTS-2000B is used to track and trace objects in the most simple and reliable way covering the entire globe. Especially objects that cannot provide a suitable power supply, obtaining power is difficult or costly, like container transports, one-time-transports, sporting events etc.
Installation
The GTTS-2000B is a battery operated tracking and tracing device that can be installed much faster then any other system. Antennas and battery are fully integrated in the all-weather-proof housing, so no wiring is needed. Mounting it onto a (ferrous) steel surface is made very easy by the (optional) integrated strong magnets. The GTTS-2000B will be activated automatically if it is placed onto a steel surface like for example a container or the roof of a truck.
Operation
The system will report its GPS location and speed in predefined time intervals through the Iridium Satellite Network to your own pc/server or to a dedicated geo-server. With mapping software the position or trace is visualized. The reporting time intervals are controlled by an integrated motion sensor. This sensor distinguishes driving/sailing from stand still. At stand still the reporting frequency is lowered in order to minimize the communication costs and to maximize the batteries life span. Reporting frequency and other settings are "Over The Air" reconfigurable. The GTTS-2000B can send appr. 3650 messages from one battery. Every message contains two reports.

• 8 transmissions / 16 reports per day: battery life span 3.2 years
• 6 transmissions / 16 reports per day: battery life span 3.6 years
• 4 transmissions / 16 reports per day: battery life span 4.2 years
• 2 transmissions / 16 reports per day: battery life span 5.0 years
• 1 transmission / 16 reports per day: battery life span 5.5 years
• 1 transmission / 1 report per day: battery life span 10 years
For a GTTS-2000B configured according “DAT-01”, this would mean that the battery should last 3.2 years. These life spans are estimated and depend on a lot of conditions like e.g. working temperature, time needed to get a GPS fix etc. Therefore it is of the utmost importance that the GTTS-2000B is placed horizontally with a clear view to the sky above to obtain a GPS fix and connection to the iridium network in a minimum of time.
